Community Profile

Located on the shores of Lake Erie at the mouth of the Huron River, Huron is accessible, beautiful, rich in heritage, and provides an excellent quality of life. We are just north and east of State Route 2, six miles from Interstate 80 and 90, and 45 miles west of the Cleveland-Hopkins International Airport. 
Huron City Schools, Parochial and Montessori schools, as well as Erie/Huron/Ottawa Joint Vocational Education School (EHOVE) and Career Center (5 miles south of Huron) provide excellent education for our youth. In addition, we are home to Bowling Green State University’s Firelands Campus. Other colleges/universities within 50 miles include: Baldwin Wallace in Berea, Cleveland State University and Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ashland University in Ashland, and Ohio State University – Mansfield.
Our city has quality utility services, landscaped parks, a public boat basin, beaches, public boat ramp, and other vast recreational opportunities. Whether you enjoy fishing or other water sports, golfing, or shopping – we have something for everyone. We have a beautiful city and are quite proud to show it off.
