Milan, OH

Community Profile

Milan is a scenic community in north central Ohio just 3 minutes from the Ohio Turnpike. History abounds here, most notably as the birthplace of Thomas Alva Edison – inventor of incandescent light. However, we are also remembered for an early era of ship building and the invention of the “Hoover Potato Digger”.

Our community is centrally located between Toledo and Cleveland and 8 minutes north of Norwalk. Cleveland-Hopkins International Airport can be reached in approximately 50 minutes. The turnpike provides easy linkage to other interstates and highways, making metropolitan areas an easy commute. Erie, Pennsylvania; Lansing, Michigan; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Ft. Wayne, Indiana; can all be driven in less than 3 hours.

In addition to our wonderful scenery, history, and accessibility, the village offers excellent utilities. Water, wastewater, and electric distribution facilities are all municipally owned, operated, and maintained.

No community is complete without quality education for our youth. The Berlin-Milan Public School District has been designated “excellent” by the State of Ohio for six consecutive years. We believe this attests to the superb education provided by our local schools.

Our location also makes it convenient to attend various institutions of higher learning close to home. BGSU (Bowling Green State University) Firelands in Huron, Ohio; and the Ohio Business College in Sandusky, Ohio; are a mere 13 minute drive. Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio; and Lorain Community College in Wellington, Ohio; are a 30-40 minute drive. Larger campuses such as Cleveland State University and the University of Toledo can be reached in 1 – 1 ¼ hour.

Freudenberg-NOK, a leading producer/technology specialist for advanced sealing products, has been a part of our community for more than 20 years. Visit us and find out why Freudenberg-NOK and others have found Milan a great place to locate.
