Why Versailles?

Versailles is home to a diverse and thriving business environment supported by strong local leadership and a collaborative, pro-business approach.

The village is home to globally recognized companies, including Midmark Corporation, a leader in medical, dental and veterinary equipment with more than 1,400 employees worldwide. Midmark’s presence underscores Versailles’ ability to support international business operations while maintaining a small-town feel.

As a public power community, Versailles provides reliable, locally controlled electric service. Recognized by the American Public Power Association as a Diamond Level Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3), the village delivers dependable, responsive and cost-effective utility services that support both residents and businesses.

Two utility bucket trucks are positioned on either side of a utility pole as lineworkers perform maintenance on overhead power lines and electrical equipment. Orange traffic cones create a work zone along the street and parking lot, while a commercial building and leafless trees stand beneath a clear blue sky.

Education is central to Versailles’ success. The Versailles Exempted Village School District serves approximately 1,400 students and consistently ranks in the top 10 percent of academic performance in Ohio. With a strong emphasis on math, science and individualized instruction, the district prepares students for both higher education and the workforce.

The surrounding region provides access to a dedicated and diverse labor force, supporting industries ranging from manufacturing and agriculture to healthcare and logistics.

Quality of Life

Versailles offers a lifestyle that blends small-town charm with modern amenities. Residents enjoy a variety of recreational opportunities, including local parks, fitness facilities and community events.

Ward Park serves as a central gathering place, featuring a swimming pool, tennis courts, pickleball, ball diamonds, playgrounds and multiple shelter houses. An 18-hole public golf course just outside the village provides additional recreational options.

Versailles’ Historic Downtown is anchored by the beautifully restored Hotel Versailles.
