Dover, OH

Community Profile

We Are Dover!

Located in Tuscarawas County, Dover is within 500 miles of one-half the population of the U.S. and Canada and more than half of U.S. manufacturing. The city is adjacent to Interstate 77 which provides access to many other venues. Cleveland-Hopkins, Port Columbus International Airport and Pittsburgh International Airports can all be reached within 1 ½ - 1 ¾ hours.  New Philadelphia’s airport, less than 10 minutes down the road, can handle most corporate aircraft. Our highway arteries make traveling by car to Indianapolis, IN; Detroit, MI; Rochester, NY; Harrisburg, PA; and Lexington, KY an easy  4-6 hour drive.

Dover takes pride in providing reliable, affordable utility services; and has invested in a fiberoptic system to accommodate our clear focus on the future. We maintain our utilities, constantly look ahead, and work in partnership with other cities to assure competitive energy costs.

Our community continues the traditions upon which it was founded . . . providing an environment conducive to economic growth and maintaining a safe, healthy place for people to call home. Whether you are cheering at a game, strolling the streets, sledding, biking, or buying chocolates at Eiler Candy Shop, the true strength of Dover . . . its people . . . is apparent.

With convenient access via interstate highways and airports, exceptional utilities, and an excellent available workforce, Dover means business.  We are the proud home of approximately 1,000 businesses, and are committed to supporting the growth of existing businesses as well as welcoming new entities to our community.

Providing an environment conducive to education and the progress of our youth is also important to us.  We are home to Dover City Schools, with the option of two private schools and a career center just 8 minutes away. One has the opportunity to further their education nearby at Kent State University – Tuscarawas Campus, or one of the other colleges/universities at North Canton and Akron which can be driven within an hour.

Relaxation is necessary for everyone. Dover City Park offers a swimming pool, miles of walking trails, a professional Disc Golf course, baseball/softball fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, and pavilions for picnicking. Deis Hill provides sledding during those snowy winters, and Memorial Hall serves as a year-round multi-purpose facility which includes a full-size basketball court and a large gathering hall.

If you are looking for a place to locate your business, visit us in Dover and let us show you what we have to offer.
