We are a “public power” community, providing municipal electric to our customers. We maintain all distribution lines and provide all related electric services. As a municipal electric provider, we work with you and for you. Our customers have part-ownership in our system. Citizens elect representatives to the board and may attend their open meetings and provide input. Electrical issues are resolved locally by local personnel. We are members of American Municipal Power (AMP), a nonprofit organization serving municipal electric systems in six states, with whom we work closely to provide our community with a diverse mix of reliable power at a competitive price.

The youth of our community receive their education through the Valley View School District. Several opportunities for higher education exist within our area. In less than an hour, one may choose to attend such institutions as Marywood University (within 5 miles), the University of Scranton, Wilkes University, Luzerne County community College, or East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania.

Our community and county provide a variety of recreational and leisure opportunities, including parks, swimming, fishing, trails, golfing, skiing, camping, and museums. We offer a beautiful location with endless opportunities.

We invite you to be a part of our community. Visit us and let us show you what we have to offer. Blakely has the right place for you!
