Community Profile
Situated four (4) miles east of Interstate 476 in north-central Montgomery County is the Borough of Hatfield, Pennsylvania. Though a small town, we offer a healthy mix of residential, commercial, and industrial property.
Our community is accessible – an important attribute in choosing any location. In addition to Interstate 476, Interstate 76 is just a 20 minute drive and Interstate 78 can be reached within 35 minutes. These highways allow for easy commutes to metropolitan areas. Philadelphia & Allentown, Pennsylvania; and Trenton, New Jersey, can be driven in less than one (1) hour. Within two (2) hours, one can reach such destinations as Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; Jersey City, New Jersey; and New York City, New York. One can even travel to Baltimore, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. within 2 ½ – 3 ½ hours. For longer commutes, Philadelphia International Airport is an approximate fifty (50) minute commute.
We operate and maintain our own municipal electric and sewer service. They are governed locally by the representatives you elect, and you are always welcome at their meetings to voice your opinions. Any issues with these utilities are handled locally. We aim to provide quality services at economical prices. We are members of American Municipal Power (AMP) – a nonprofit corporation serving municipal electric systems in six states, who assists its members with providing for the generation, transmission and distribution of electric power and energy to its members.
North Penn School District provides quality education for our youth. Within 40 minutes of Hatfield, we have access to several quality colleges and universities. These include: Villanova University, Philadelphia University, Penn State Abington, Montgomery County Community College, Bucks County Community College, and Eastern College.
In addition to accessibility, municipal services, and quality education, we also provide a great place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Five parks are located within our community and within easy walking distance of almost any neighborhood. They offer a tot lot, gardens and beautiful landscaping, swimming pool, walking paths, resting benches, picnic tables and grills, baseball fields, basketball and tennis courts, gazebos, waterfalls, memorials, etc. These parks are a great place to spend a relaxing afternoon or evening.
Brooks Instruments (flow meters and flow controllers) and Schlosser Steel, Inc. (leading designer and fabricator of structural steel) are just two of several companies who have realized the benefits of Hatfield. Stop by, visit our business and industry, and let us show you what our borough has to offer. Our community welcomes you!
