Much of our borough’s architecture maintains the charm of the 19th century, while business and industry keeps pace with current technology and infrastructure. Mifflinburg has two retail business centers. The downtown business area which includes retail shops, professional service offices and a hotel/restaurant is situated amidst beautiful historic buildings. A commercial business hub at the east end of town offers supermarkets, drug stores, banks, restaurants and many other businesses. We are home to large businesses such as manufactured housing and to smaller businesses ranging from wood crafting and backyard storage facilities to telephone/data network providers.

Less than 25 minutes from Interstate 80, Mifflinburg easily connects to other major highways and larger metropolitan areas. We are approximately one hour north of Harrisburg and within three hours of Philadelphia, Pa., Rochester, N.Y., Baltimore, Md., and Washington, D.C. New York CityPittsburgh, Pa. are within four hours by car. Williamsport Regional Airport (U.S. Airways) is attainable within 55 minutes, while Harrisburg International Airport is an hour away. and

The local electric system is owned, operated and maintained by the municipality. As a “public power” community, it is our goal to provide reliable energy services at an economical price. Our customers are our owners, and we are here to serve them. Citizens/customers have a direct impact on our operations as they elect representatives to the Borough Council and may attend open meetings to hear discussions and express their concerns. Electrical issues are resolved locally by local personnel. American Municipal Power, Inc., of which we are a member, provides assistance with generation, transmission and distribution of electric power and other related services.

The Mifflinburg Area School District assists our youth in gaining a quality education and becoming productive citizens. Several excellent colleges and universities are found within an hour’s drive: Bucknell University, Susquehanna University, Pennsylvania College of Technology, Lycoming College, Bloomsburg University, Pennsylvania State University and Lock Haven University.

Our safe, small-town setting is second to none and provides ample opportunity for recreation. Mifflinburg Community Park offers a swimming pool and playground, covered pavilions and picnic tables, a gazebo, concerts in the park, and the perfect setting for annual festivals. Both the Mifflinburg Community Park and the Harry Haney Memorial Park are great for families to enjoy an afternoon. Nestled in Bald Eagle State Forest, 20 minutes to the north, is Raymond B. Winter State Park. Located on 695 acres, the park offers numerous activities throughout the year including hiking trails, a nature center, a sandy beach and lake, campground, picnic tables and a magnificent landscape. Our region is definitely a place to explore and enjoy nature.
