Located on PA 405/44 in Northumberland County, Watsontown is a small community with unique opportunities. Interstate 80 is just three miles from town while Interstate 180 is less than four miles away. Interstates 81 & 99 can both be reached in less than an hour. These freeways provide easy access to larger metropolitan areas. Within a four hour driving radius of Watsontown, one can reach such metropolitan areas as Pittsburgh or Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Washington, D.C.; Syracuse, New York City, Buffalo, or Rochester, New York; Trenton, New Jersey; or Stamford, Connecticut. The Williamsport Regional Airport can be reached in less than 30 minutes for those further destinations or to access freight delivery.
We operate our own municipal electric system, taking responsibility for keeping your power on. As a public power, municipal system, you are both our customer and part-owner. You elect people to represent you on the governing board/council and are welcome to attend their open meetings. Our school system, Warrior Run School District, is an important part of our community. We support our youth in their endeavors as they are the future of our community. Within thirty miles of Watsontown, one may choose to further their education at such institutions as Bucknell UniversityLewisburg, Pennsylvania College of Technology or Lycoming College in Williamsport, or Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania in Bloomsburg.
