Victoria Place Owners Receive $1M JobsOhio Grant for Redevelopment
JobsOhio, the state’s private economic development corporation, announced Painesville’s 191,000 SF downtown building, Victoria Place, as a recipient of their Vibrant Community Grant Program. The building’s owners, Renew Partners LLC, will receive $1 million in assistance to help redevelop the site and serve as a catalyst to spur future investment in the community. “This grant is the result of successful collaboration between the City, our legislators, JobsOhio and private business working together to make a significant change in our community,” said Doug Lewis, Painesville City Manager. “Combined with the investment Renew Partners is making in Painesville, the new TIF district established in the downtown, and the former Chase Bank building redevelopment project, we are well on our way to seeing a significant positive shift in downtown Painesville.”
Tyson Foods, Inc. selects Danville as location for new manufacturing facility
Tyson Foods, Inc., one of the world’s largest food companies, will invest $300 million to establish a manufacturing facility in Cane Creek Centre, an industrial park jointly owned by the City of Danville and Pittsylvania County. The company will construct a 325,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility, to be operational by 2023.
AquaBounty Technologies selects Pioneer as location for planned salmon farm
AquaBounty Technologies, Inc., a land-based aquaculture company utilizing technology to enhance productivity and sustainability, announced that it has identified Pioneer, Ohio as the location for its planned large-scale farm for the Company’s proprietary genetically engineered salmon. “We are excited to announce Pioneer, Ohio as the location of our next farm,” said Sylvia Wulf, Chief Executive Officer of AquaBounty. “After an intensive analysis of the site data and the completion of substantial due diligence, Pioneer met our selection requirements.”
Matsu expands its Edgerton operations
Matsu Ohio, a leading automotive supplier serving full assembly production facilities has announced plans to expand its Edgerton, Ohio operations. The Company will invest more than $4.5 million in machinery and equipment at its Edgerton plant and add 104 new jobs. Matsu’s Director of US Operations Robert Teixeira said, “Matsu Ohio is proud to be part of the Williams County community and is excited about the opportunity to grow our customer base, create jobs, and increase production volume at our Edgerton facility.”
Avery Dennison expands in Painesville
Avery Dennison Performance Tapes, a manufacturing company out of Painesville, Ohio, announced its plans to expand its facility. The company is add an additional 32,000 square feet and hire an additional 25 employees in manufacturing and skilled labor roles. The company will break ground on the expansion in September of 2021 with an estimated completion date of the middle of 2022.
JAC Products expands factory in Napoleon
Founded in 1967, JAC Products Inc. is a Michigan based automotive parts supplier that makes roof racks and other exterior accessories for more than 20 major automakers including General Motors and Fiat Chrysler. Plans to double the size of a recently completed 100,000-square-foot speculative building on Napoleon’s northwest side near U.S. Rt. 24 were completed by local developer Sean Rupp in cooperation with the Community Improvement Corporation of Henry County.
Butler County welcomes 80 Acres Farms
80 Acres Farms moves its headquarters to Butler County and has been granted a 1.647 percent tax credit for committing to create 125 new jobs and investing at least $26.9 million.
ThyssenKrupp Bilstein expands in Hamilton
The largest manufacturer in Hamilton, ThyssenKrupp Bilstein of America Inc., celebrated a 30,000 square-foot expansion of its high-performance shock absorber factory, with further expansions planned.
Hanon Systems Chooses Carey
Hanon Systems constructed a new U.S. manufacturing plant in Carey, Ohio. The 100,000 square foot facility became operational in 2017, and in full production, created approximately 140 salaried and hourly positions.
