Community Profile

The Village of Brewster is a progressive community. Incorporated in 1910, our village was established as a result of the Wheeling & Lake Erie Railway wishing to avoid a grade in Mansfield. Through hard work, strong wills, and ideas to make it happen our community has continued to bloom and flourish. Our village is located in northeast Ohio approximately 15 miles southwest of Canton. The Akron-Canton Regional Airport is an approximate 30 minute drive.

Situated near many major highways – US 62 (2 minutes), US 30 (8 minutes), I-77 (18 minutes), I-76 (32 minutes), and I-71 (45 minutes) – we are accessible to many other outlets. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, can be reached in just over 2 hours, while in 3 hours one can travel as far as Charleston, West Virginia.

Our municipality operates its own water, sewer, and electric distribution system; as well as a street department who maintain our roadways, parks and other village grounds. The village offers four parks and a Veteran’s Memorial Boulevard for enjoyment and relaxation.

We are home to Fairless Local Schools, comprised of several small communities. The high school recently received an “Excellent” rating from the State of Ohio.

Several major industries also call us home: Shearer Foods (a snack food manufacturer), Brewster Dairy (a Swiss cheese producer), and Wheeling & Lake Erie Railway (a prominent regional railroad). They have all found success in Brewster and we feel certain you will, too. Give us a call. We would be happy to show you around and make you a part of our community.
