Situated in northwest Huron County, along the banks of the Huron River, Monroeville is approximately 8 miles south of the Ohio Turnpike. We offer a peaceful, friendly, rural lifestyle where residents exhibit a responsible work ethic. Via the turnpike, we are less than an hour from Cleveland-Hopkins International Airport. The Ohio Turnpike, U.S. Route 20 (east-west) and U.S. Routes 4 & 250 (north-south) provide quick commutes throughout the area. Destinations such as Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Syracuse, New York; and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; can all be driven in less than 7 hours.

Monroeville Local Schools provide superior academic and extra curricular opportunities for students. It is a smaller school where families know staff and fellow students on a first-name basis. To further one’s education, BGSU (Bowling Green State University) Firelands in Huron or the OhioBusiness College in Sandusky are both less than a 25 minute drive.

Operating our own municipal utilities – water, wastewater, and electric distribution is advantageous to our residents. We also have our own street department. Providing these services within the municipality means they are governed locally, and when there is need for assistance, we are your neighbor – willing to assist you. We work with American Municipal Power, Inc. (AMP) and fellow public power communities to obtain electricity at the best rate possible. We then, provide and maintain the distribution lines locally. AMP is the nonprofit, wholesale power and services provider for more than 130 public power communities that serve about 661,000 customers across nine states. AMP manages and supplies competitively priced, reliable wholesale power to Member municipal electric systems such as Monroeville.

We offer parks where recreational opportunities, shelter houses, and playground facilities are available for the enjoyment and relaxation of children and families alike. For a family get-away, Cedar Point is just a 31 minute drive. The shores of Lake Erie are also a nearby attraction.

Underground Utilities Inc., water and sewer system construction, has called Monroeville, Ohio, home for years.
