Pioneer, OH
Community Profile
“Ambitious” — a trait used to describe Pioneer’s early settlers as well as its citizens today. Located in Williams County, in the northwest corner of the State of Ohio, Pioneer is easily accessible from Indiana and Michigan. The Toledo Express Airport is less than an hour away, and the Ft. Wayne International Airport is within 1 ½ hours. Interstates 80/90 (east-west) and Interstate 69 (north-south), bring Lansing, Chicago, and Indianapolis within a few hours drive. One can also make the drive to St. Louis and Nashville in less than 8 hours.
Ambition and imagination have proved successful for local companies such as: Universal Industrial Products, manufacturer of SOSS invisible hinges; Action Precision Products (APP) who provide companies with quality machined parts, CNC and precision grinding; and Pioneer Industrial who focus on custom design and build machinery, specializing in robotic. Our efficient and quality municipal utilities – electric, water, sewer – have played a role in their success.
While ambition, imagination and location are essential to business success, one cannot forget the importance of education and a bit of relaxation. North Central Local Schools provide a quality educational system for our students. Six colleges/universities in Ohio and Michigan can also be reached within an hour.
When it comes to relaxation, Williams County offers five golf courses. In addition, our community offers quick access by car to two of the Great Lakes — Lake Erie (1 hr. 40 min.), and Lake Michigan (2 ¼ hrs.).
We would be excited to have you visit. Just stop by or give us a call and let us show you what we have to offer.
