Located ten (10) minutes southeast of Interstates 79 and 80, the “Crossroads of the East”, Grove City is an ideal location. Within one to four (1-4) hours of our borough, one can reach such metropolitan areas as Pittsburgh, PA; Erie, PA; Cleveland, OH; Buffalo, NY; Toledo, OH; Columbus, OH; and Harrisburg, PA. Air transportation is available at the Grove City Municipal Airport and Pittsburgh International Airport. Commercial express shuttle is also available at Chess-Lamberton Airport in Franklin.
Our borough provides local municipal electric and water services. As municipal utilities, our customers have part-ownership. Citizens may take part in electing representatives to the board/council who govern the utilities, and may attend and express any concerns at their open meetings. Problems with these local utilities can be resolved locally with local personnel. We are members of American Municipal Power (AMP), a nonprofit organization serving municipal electric systems in six states, with whom we work closely to provide our community with a diverse mix of reliable power at a competitive price.
Our youth receive an excellent education through the Grove City Area School District. Grove City College boasts an award-winning engineering program, and plays a key role in the enrichment of our community. Other colleges/universities within a 40 minute commute or less include: Slippery Rock University, Westminster College, Thiel College, and Penn State – Shenango Campus.
Grove City’s 265-acre municipal park, several playgrounds, the YMCA, golf courses, and state parks offer a variety of recreational and leisure opportunities – swimming pool, sports facilities, trails, gazebo, and several pavilions for picnics, etc. Our downtown offers a variety of specialty shops, and nearby the Grove City Factory Shops attract millions.
