Community Profile

Situated in Bucks County, the Borough of Perkasie is midway between Philadelphia and Allentown, both which can be driven to within an hour. Interstates 476, 78, 276, and 95 allow for easy commutes to many major metropolitan areas. These highways make Newark, New Jersey, accessible within an hour; and New York City, New York, accessible in less than two hours.

The borough owns and operates its own municipal “public power” electric system. Every citizen has the right to participate in electing representatives to the board/council, and to attend and express any concerns at their open meetings. Any problems with the utility can be resolved locally, by local personnel. We are members of American Municipal Power (AMP) with whom we work closely to provide our community with a diverse mix of reliable power at a competitive price.

Pennridge School District provides a well-rounded education for our youth. Students may choose to further their education close to home as several colleges/universities are within a 45 minute drive or less. They include: Bucks County Community College (Perkasie Campus), Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell, Lehigh University and Northampton County Area Community College in Bethlehem, Muhlenberg College in Allentown, and Pennsylvania State University in Abington (Penn State Abington).

We have several parks for recreation and relaxation. Menlo Park offers an aquatics center, the historic Perkasie Carousel (which still costs the same price it did 30-40 years ago – $.35), picnic pavilions, and a play area. Lenape Park, located on both sides of the East Branch Perkiomen Creek, provides a bikeway that connects with other communities, baseball fields, a softball field, sand volleyball court, ice skating rink, picnic areas, etc. Kulp playground, also links to the bikeway, offers tennis courts, basketball courts, a baseball field, picnic area, and playground.

This profile identifies just some of what the Borough of Perkasie has to offer. You really need to visit to experience our charm. Contact us and let us show you the many benefits of our community.
